Saturday, November 23, 2019: Holiday Food Basket Delivery

Gulf  Beach Masonic Lodge, located at 14020 Marguerite Dr. in Madeira Beach helped bring Holiday cheer to eleven local families in need. Sixteen Masons, friends and family members prepared and delivered the Thanksgiving food baskets to less fortunate families in the area. The baskets included a large turkey, pies, and all the sides necessary for the most sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner. Gulf Beach Lodge is pleased to be able to assist in making this a great holiday season for those most in need. Gulf Beach Lodge has provided Holiday baskets for over 45 years and looks forward to continuing the tradition well into the future.

Gulf Beach Masonic Lodge No. 291 was chartered in 1950 and has been an active force on the Gulf Beaches for 69 years. Its members have included bankers, contractors, teachers, Congressmen, soldiers, pharmacists, police, firefighters, and a myriad of men from all walks of life. Freemasonry is open to men ages 18 and above and offers an opportunity to be proactive in the community as well as to be a part of a fraternity that dates back hundreds of years. Some notable Freemasons were George Washington (and 15 other US Presidents), Ben Franklin, Henry Ford, Red Skelton, and General Douglas MacArthur. Thursday, November 21, 2019: Stated Meeting

Why did many of us join Freemasonry? It was to be a part of building a better community through charitable and fraternal actions. Last night’s meeting was a great example of what Gulf Beach Lodge Masons do in the community, and the Lodge, to build a better world, one small action at a time. Here is what we did.

  • Remembered our brothers and their families in our prayers, thoughts and cards
  • Made final plans to deliver Thanksgiving Food Baskets to 11 local families in need
  • Approved spending $40 each on Christmas Gift Baskets for our sponsored residents at the Masonic Home
  • Approved donating $100 each for a Christmas Gift Card for our Emeritus Brothers
  • Made final preparations to volunteer at the Salvation Army Angel Tree on December 7th
  • A brother made an anonymous donation of $500 for a new Lodge computer

This is what Masonry is about…doing the best good in the community and for our members.

Come out to Lodge tomorrow (Saturday November 23rd) at 8:45 am to help deliver Thanksgiving Holiday Baskets and you will definitely recharge those Masonic batteries.
